As the foremost authority on aviation in the world, CAPA – Centre for Aviation once again delivers its World Aviation Outlook Summit, designed to provide a market outlook for 2019 and review the commercial and operational pillars that will drive global airline strategic decision-making.
This year, the CAPA World Aviation Outlook Summit, held in conjunction with the CAPA Global Aviation Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, will be hosted in Berlin, Germany by Berlin Airports, and welcome a diverse array of airline leaders all looking forward to 2019.
These questions will be answered in a lively two-day conference set to the backdrop of one of Europe’s oldest cities, steeped in history.
To introduce proceedings, CAPA - Centre for Aviation will provide an in-depth, big picture overview of the global aviation outlook, and in his first CAPA appearance, Deutsche Lufthansa AG Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Carsten Spohr, will deliver the summit’s airline keynote, focusing on the growth and direction of Europe’s largest airline group.
Looking forward to 2019, a variety of industry experts will be in attendance to give their thoughts on the aviation industry’s outlook, including: IATA, Chief Economist, Brian Pearce; Airbus, SVP Business Analysis & Market Forecast, Robert Lange; and European Commission, Director for Aviation, Filip Cornelis, to name a few.
A range of interactive panel discussions and debates on industry specific issues are all part of the impressive agenda, and include such topics as:
CAPA Global Aviation Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner
The Summit will also feature the global edition of the CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, awards which have recognised strategic leadership in the aviation industry since 2002.
Regarded as the pre-eminent awards ceremony for strategic aviation excellence, the CAPA Aviation Awards are intended to reward airlines, airports and individuals that are not only successful but have also provided industry strategic leadership in an always changing environment. The awards are not driven by customer surveys or sponsorship and are researched by an independent panel of judges. Award categories include CAPA Airline of the Year, CAPA LCC of the Year and CAPA Airport of the Year.
Visit Berlin
Summer roof terraces and beach bars, winter Christmas markets and shopping – and sightseeing and museums at any time of the year. Berlin is always well worth visiting – and that’s a promise!
After all, in Berlin, there’s always so much to do, every day of the year, any time of day or night – a sparkling array of events, highlights, entertainment and culture. Berlin is 365/24.
You’ll be spoilt for choice when looking for Christmas markets in Berlin. From around the end of November, great-smelling food and drink of the stalls entice visitors to spend the evening exploring the sights and sounds on offer. The Berliner Weinachtszeit is located behind Alexanderplatz and is an excellent place to soak up the Christmas spirit. You'll enjoy discovering rides, mulled wine and traditional toys among many other gifts here. WeinachtsZauber at the Gendarmenmarkt is another institution of Berlin Christmas markets and can be found in the cultural district housing the Konzerthaus and cathedrals. Späth'sche Baumschule dates from the 18th century and is particularly great for kids.
